What are you doing to help keep clients safe during Covid-19?I understand it is a difficult time right now with a pandemic. To help all my clients feel safe, these are the steps I take to keep everyone safe in my home studio: All appointments are 1 on 1 to help limit exposure and spread. (Please only bring yourself to your appointment.) When clients arrive, there will be hand sanitizer to use at the door. I also have a washroom for you to wash your hands before starting your appointment. Masks are now optional. If you would like me to wear a mask during your appointment, please let me know prior to your appointment. I clean and sanitize after every client that enters my home studio. If any clients are having any symptoms or feeling unwell, I ask that they kindly reschedule their appointments to a later date.

What do you charge for a haircut/color?My prices are listed here for haircuts. For colors, I recommend a consultation to help give a better estimate. Everyone's hair is different and because of that, it is difficult to give a base price. I charge color services by the hour.
-
What methods of payment do you accept?I accept cash, etransfer, debit and credit card. I do not accept AMEX or Cheques.
-
How often should I come in for maintenance haircuts?Everyone's hair is different and grows at different rates. It is on average that hair grows half an inch every month. It all comes down to how fresh do you want your hair to look. I recommend for women's haircuts in between 4-8 weeks. I recommend for men's haircuts in between 2-4 weeks.
-
How often should I come in for color maintenance?Everyone has different preferences. It depends on what service you normally get done. For solid colors with no lightener, I recommend 4-6 weeks. If your hair grows faster, I would come in sooner than later. For bleach/lightener and toning services, I recommend 4-5 weeks. If you wait too long to come in, I often have to double process the hair because there will be banding. For toning/fashion colors/refreshing color, I recommend 4-6 weeks. This service is for those who love to keep their color as fresh and vibrant as possible. All toner fades overtime depending on home aftercare, water used to wash the hair, heat styling, etc.
-
How long does it take for a color appointment?Everyone's hair is different, therefore everyone's results can vary. It depends on how much hair you have, and how much product is needed during your appointment. That also determines how long your appointment will be. I always recommend coming in for a consultation. If you can't come in or wish to have a online consultation, I offer via FaceTime, text, phone call, or email consultations to help make things easier. I always say you can't rush art. But at the same time, no one wants to sit for hours. I am meticulous and efficient while I work but if you want a faster stylist than me, I may not be the stylist for you and would be happy to refer you to someone else. If you are limited on time, please let me know and we can figure out what will work better with your schedule. Please note that we may need to cut your hair appointment into multiple sessions as a result of time restrictions.

Why does my hair color fade quick? There are numerous factors as to why your hair color can fade more quickly. When you leave the salon, your hair color is still settling into your hair cuticle. It's important to wait at least 48 hours before washing your fresh color. I always recommend to my clients that they should wash their hair in luke cool/cold water for their first hair wash to help seal the hair cuticle so that the color won't fade as quick. Hair color can also fade quick can depend on the aftercare after you leave the salon. Be sure to use the products recommended to you by your stylist. It requires work from both the client and stylist to ensure the best results for your hair. Be sure to ask questions if you are unsure on any hair care. Fading can also depend on what type of hair service was done. If you recently lightened the hair, your hair will become more porous as you have had your hair striped of all of the melanin in the hair and it no longer has anything to hold onto color. When you lighten your hair, you create holes in the hair shaft and it's no longer able to hold onto color. So you may notice why with blonde/fashion color hair clients, it's recommended that they should come in within 4-6 weeks to refresh their colors.

Can I bring someone with me to my appointment? Please only bring yourself to your appointment.

Can I bring food to my appointment? For short appointments less than 2 hours, I recommend eating before or after your appointment. If you have a long appointment over 4 hours (such as a color correction) I allow my clients to bring food as you will be spending a few hours in my chair. I leave the room and allow you to have some privacy. Water is provided upon request or you may bring your own bottle of water. If you are unsure, be sure to raise this concern to me when booking your appointment.

What are you doing to help keep clients safe during Covid-19?To help clients feel safe during their appointments, these are the measures I am taking: Disposable needles are used during appointments so they will be thrown out after a single use for every client. Masks are now optional. If you would like me to wear a mask during your appointment, please let me know prior to your appointment. There will be a mandatory form to fill out to before your appointment starts. (Will be sent to your email once the appointment is booked. You may fill it out the day before your appointment as long as you let me know ahead of time.) When clients arrive, there will be hand sanitizer to use at the door. Will the vaccine for covid-19 affect the results of my tattoo?I have not experienced anything as of yet, but following my instructor at Hoi Tattoo - it has been mentioned that there were some recent side effects experienced by clients who are in between COVID-19 vaccine doses. A few clients who were in between doses have experienced excessive swelling and symptoms similar to an allergic reaction. Any new or returning clients must have completed both doses of the vaccine and wait at least 2 weeks before booking an appointment. If you have scheduled an appointment but are awaiting a second dose please contact me to reschedule.

How long will the procedure be?As I am a new artist, I will be booking 4-5 hours for your appointment. As I get better, it can go down to 3-3.5 hours. Thank you for your patience and understanding. If this is too long for you, then we can reschedule you at another time or I can refer you to another artist.
-
Does it hurt during the procedure?Everyone pain tolerance is different. Some can handle more than others. I do a use numbing cream during the procedure but while I am outlining your eyebrows, you may experience some pain but it should be bearable as I am going in very lightly to open the skin to prepare for implanting pigment into the skin. If you are on your menstrual cycle, you may be more sensitive to pain. I will do my best to make sure your appointment is as comfortable and pain free as possible. I myself have gotten microblading and permanent makeup done to my own eyebrows and the pain was not excruciating. It did help that both artists that did my eyebrows used a numbing cream during the procedure.
-
What can I expect from my appointment?Prior to starting the procedure, the client's eyebrows will be cleaned and prepped. For the consultation, we will figure out together what shape/color shade suits the client's face/skintone. I will then pre-draw/map the client's eyebrows and show them the results. Once the client is happy with the eyebrow color/shape, I will begin the procedure by lightly outlining the eyebrows, then a numbing cream will be applied for 20 minutes. While the client is waiting for the numbing agent to take effect, I will show the client what the pigment will oxidize to and then I will continue with the procedure. If more numbing is needed, I can apply more during the procedure.
-
When do I need to come in for a retouch?I recommend coming in annually to upkeep the color and shape of your eyebrows. Everyone's reults vary depending on their skin type and aftercare so if you are unsure, you can reach out and or send photos to me. After a year, it will be considered a new session again.
-
Who IS NOT a candidate for permanent makeup tattooing?I am unable to proceed forward with an appointment if you are/have any of the following: Pregnant or breast feeding/nursing. (Please wait at least 2 months before booking an appointment.) HIV/AIDS or Hepatitis/Jaundice or Epilepsy. Under 18 years old. Had botox done recently. (Please wait at least a month before booking an appointment.) Had fillers done recently. (Please wait at least a month before booking an appointment.) Drank alcohol/taken blood thinners before your appointment. (Please wait a 48 hours to a week before booking an appointment.) Taking Accutane. (Please wait one year before booking an appointment.) Going through chemotheraphy. (Please talk to your doctor before seeing me. A proof of a doctor's note will be required to move forward with an appointment.) Eczema on the area of procedure. Severe allergic reactions. Please disclose prior to booking your appointment as you may be allergic to some ingredients that can be in the ink pigments or numbing agents used. Diabetic (Please talk to your doctor before booking an appointment.) Went suntanning/tanning bed recently. (Please do it a month before and after your appointment.)
-
Can I drink alcohol/coffee before my appointment? For best results, I highly recommend that clients do not consume alcohol, caffeine, or blood thinners 48 hours before the scheduled procedure to avoid excess bleeding. Excess bleeding causes the lack of visibility for me and a higher risk of infection. Blood thinners can also increase the risk of bruising. Blood thinners: Aspirin, Ibuprofen (Advil), Aleve, Naproxen, Niacin, Fish oil, Primrose oil

Can I bring food to my appointment?I recommend eating prior to your appointment. Have a light snack 30 minutes to an hour beforehand, nothing that will make you overly full. Water is provided upon request or you may bring your own bottle of water.
-
Can I get botox or fillers prior or post procedure?I highly recommend to clients if they wish to get botox or fillers done, to get it done at least a month before or after their eyebrow appointment. This will lessen the chance of anything affecting your procedure. Please plan accordingly.
-
Can I go tanning/tanning beds prior or post procedure?I do not recommend going tanning before your appointment. You may 30 days before or 30 days after your appointment. When you get a tan or a sunburn, your skin peels when you exfoliate - therefore, it will take the tattoo pigment with it. If you arrive with signs of sun exposure, I will unfortunately have to reschedule your appointment and your deposit will be forfeited. Please plan accordingly.
-
If I'm pregnant or nursing, can I get my eyebrows tattooed?"No. If you are pregnant or nursing, your appointment will be voided. As a precaution, I will not be tattooing any client that is pregnant or nursing. If you gave a deposit and become pregnant before your appointment, your deposit will be forfeited. Please wait at least 2 months after you give birth or finish nursing to book your appointment. One of the main risks of getting any tattoo work done is the chance of an infection. If your pmu artist uses contaminated or dirty needles, you could be at risk of getting bloodborne infections (Hepatitis B) and can easily pass it to your baby.
-
If I have a history of keloid scarring, can I still get my eyebrows tattooed?"I would not recommend it as it can heavily affect your results. Please raise this concern to me during your consultation.
-
If I have previous work done by another artist, can you fix it?"At this time, I am not taking any clients with previous work done as I am still learning. You may send photos and I can assess beforehand. I would recommend letting the tattoo fade as much as possible before booking an appointment. You may use retinol on the eyebrow area to help it fade quicker. This won't fade it completely. I highly recommend getting laser treatment done for more precise results. If you need a referral, please don't hesistate to ask. I can definitely refer you to someone to help with tattoo removal.
-
What method of payments do you accept? At this time I am only accepting cash only.
-
What should I wear to my appointment?Since clients will be laying down for a few hours, wear something comfortable.
